Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

These are just a couple of hints that you may take in consideration when preparing your trip to Victoria. Please contact us, with any other questions and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Photo 2 Suitcases :

Although there are lots of storage room in Victoria's accomodations, we strongly suggest to use flexible travel bags or cases in order to fit easier in any compartment onboard.

Photo 2 What to pack :

All you need is a couple of soumsuits, T-shirts and shorts!

You may consider bringing walking shoes for the occasional hike (crocs will do), a sweater/cardigan or long sleeved shirt for the cool evenings and casual clothes if you are planning to eat ashore one night.

Do not forget: medicines, sunglasses, sun tan lotion, camera, batteries and memory card for your camera, books and your favourite CD's, DVD's or iPod.

We will provide you with soaps, shampoo and conditioner, but you may want to bring your own brands if you wish. Unless you prefer to bring and use your own snorkel gear and fins, they will be provided onboard as well.

Photo 2 Soft Sole Shoes :

We recommend to bring soft sole shoes (crocs) to make your vacation more comfortable. To walk on deck safely and to relief your feet from regular work shoes.

Photo 2 Sun tan lotion :

Although it may seem difficult to comprehend as your dig your car out of the snow to get to the airport, the tropical sun is hot, especially on pale bodies that have been kept undercover throughout a northern winter.

It is very important so select the right sun tan lotion for your skin type and complexion. It all depends of your needs but, pretty much all our guests and based on your own experience SPF-30 is the minimum required to protect your skin from the caribbean sunlight. Try to select a non-oil based. (Hawaiian Tropic SPF-45 works fine).

Photo 2 Seasickness :

The Virgin Islands have relatively little wave action but there are those who just look at a boat and turn green.

Here are some products to help you prepare for your trip:

1.) Motion sickness wristband.- These elastic wrist bands have a small, plastic button that when placed in the right acupressure point on the inside of your wrist, help to relieve symptoms. They have no side effects, are comfortable to wear and can be purchased at drug stores.

2.) Ginger Capsules.- An old, natural remedy that again, has no side effects. Ginger has a settling effect on the stomach. These capsules are available in most health food stores.

Photo 2 Water :

Drinking water is such an important thing in the tropics. Bottled water is always available in the cockpit to keep yourself hidratated.

Regarding bathing/shower or salt water flushing, we have a fresh water maker (1000 gal/day) onboard.

Photo 2 Linen :

Bed sheets are 100% cotton and are changed every 3 days.

Towels: beach/hand/body/face are all provided for your individual use and are changed as needed.

Photo 2 Pets :

Althoug we love animals we consider that the reduced areas of a boat is not the best for them.

Photo 2 Passports :

Absolutely all travelers require a valid passport to enter either the USVI, BVI's, and St Vincent and the Grenadines by airplane. Please check additional visa requirements for certain countries.

Entering the USVI on a private vessel (i.e. aboard "Victoria"), requires a valid visa for any person exept U.S. citizens.
